Is Manchester responsible for Global Warming?

Thanks for reading the first of our weekly update of the goings on at EPS.

Monday started the week off with our monthly Media City networking and this month saw Jay Allen talking about thinking big. For thirty minutes he kept the attendees spellbound! A great tip - What gets measured gets done!

Another early meeting representing Premium Collections at a Subs member meeting. This business group represents companies mainly from Altrincham and holds a monthly meeting. The next being Friday 16th November 8am to 10pm http://ow.ly/5ZwH30mxRm7

Another lesson learnt from Alex McCann of AltrinchamHQ don't just like a post, make a comment it will help the article get noticed and will show you have actually taken the time to read it.

Tuesday ended with mixing business with pleasure, a walking tour of Manchester courtesy of  Heather Gray and the team at Bruntwood. The company owns over 20% of commercial space in Manchester. We were led by the mighty Jonathan Schofield a brilliant tour guide around the architecture of Manchester including some of Bruntwood's buildings. Check out Di Jones professional photographer's social media she was snapping away. Yes there is a Range Rover on the roof of Neo which tenants can use as a meeting pod.

The FSB will be exhibiting at the North West Business Expo on 22nd November at The Etihad and to celebrate this there was a launch event at Manchester Central Library on Wednesday. The event is a must for all businesses in Manchester. A big thanks to Leonhermans who held their networking event at The Met in Didsbury in the evening it was great to catch up with fellow networkers.

It's always good to reflect on how successful networking is and I walked away with a couple of solid appointments for my clients and a potential new client!

Thursday, was the usual networking event I attend on behalf of Wills, Protection and Beyond. Fascinating fact, 68% of the adult population in the UK have not got a will! With tax changes and the fact that dying intestate could see your beneficiaries  lose out significantly.

The day ended with an offer I don't think I can refuse! But more of that to come in future weeks,

Friday was of course MBBC day and it is visitors day this coming Friday with over 15 guests booked on already would you like to visit one of Manchester's oldest networking groups?

It was then a quick run over to the Manchester Chamber of Commerce for a round table with Legal and General. Where we heard about the massive construction  projects going on around the city. There are 64 cranes erected at the moment and that is the most there has ever been. There is also a 2 year waiting list for a crane if you want one!

Manchester was the home of the industrial revolution which has contributed to Global Warning but are we going to be the city that leads us out with autonomous electric vehicles and artificial intelligence such as the project demonstrated to me later in the day which will help small retailers to meet their audience on line. Manchester intends to be Carbon Neutral by 2038, will we make it?

Finally, a massive thanks to Simon Webb and the team at the BBC Philharmonic  for the invite to "Ballads of the Great War" who paid their respects to the 100 year remembrance of Armistice Day. A very moving performance and great to see Aled Jones sing. Glad to see he made it back London for Saturday Kitchen. Always good to catch up with Paul Winterbottom of The Alternative Board who also managed to get tickets.
