There is a motto anybody who has been to a BNI meeting will have heard, which is "Givers Gain".

This week saw a really great networker and friend taken away from his family, friends and clients far too soon. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Nicholson some time ago and then for the last three years we would have breakfast together on a Friday morning and then last year that became Thursdays as well.

He was always far too happy for 6.30am in the morning but what really stood out was the fact that he always wanted to know about you and your business he was the role model for networking he received business because everyone knew him, they certainly liked him and they knew they could trust him.

He was responsible for the EPS logo and did all our printing because as soon as you met him you knew he was going to do a great job for you.

Since the tragic news came out last Tuesday the number of comments I have read about him the outpouring has been immense from everyone who met him.

So when you are networking this week take a leaf out of Mark's book and see how you can help someone rather than what is in it for me. You will get paid back.

Givers do gain.
