OK so I am biased, last week I picked up an award for services to the SME community and it felt great but a week ago I attended the FSB's North West regional awards and experienced the joy of businesses being nominated and then the jubilation of the winners who saw all their hard work acknowledged.
Entering a business award may seem like too much hard work but the rewards can be so much higher. Recognition of you, your business and staff can not be quantified. The increase in business about shouting out of your nomination and now with social media it is so much easier my post on LinkedIn has reached over 7,000 people so far. Plus with the lack of reporters at local newspapers a good news story is always welcome. Finally, the people who work with you should also be recognised very rarely is an award won solely by one person.
If you think entering a business award is hard then try judging one. I was honoured to be asked by James Caldwell of Innov8 to be a judge for the Greater Manchester Business awards. The standard was so high this year anyone of the entries could have been a winner. Congratulations to all the winners and runners up this year which was held at the iconic Imperial War Museum this year.
So what are you waiting for? Go out and look for those business awards as an FSB member once said to be what have you got to lose? Though he had just won a one an hour long documentary on Chanel 4 which took his business to another level.
By the way we do help our clients enter business awards as part of our services :)
